This guide is here to get you started, so you don't have to post questions anywhere to wait for the answers, when people are only going to say to you, stop asking stupid n00b questions. This guide should help you with everything on the game. I try to cover every single thing that might come to your mind in this tutorial. I hope I do good work. There are many links on this guide. They lead to pictures that lead to pictures about that thing.

Connecting to the game:
There are 2 ways to connect to the game. You can play trough the internet or download the windows client.The difference between these two, are that the windows client downloads all needed files once to your computer, and only re-downloads them when they are updated. The browser version downloads the full game everytime. Also, The windows client requires you to have Internet explorer 5.

So to connect the game: When on the site, click on the "Click here to play" link, and then from the opening window, click on some of the "Worlds" which you want to play in. Worlds are all identical to eachother, except that there are different players playing in them. Same characters can play in all of the worlds. After this the game should start loading. If you are using windows client, start the program, after that the client will download all new files you are still missing. It will automatically download any new files if needed. The wold selection screen comes after loading the files. Click some of the worlds to start.

If the game doesn't start loading there might be some problems with your browsers security settings. You should browse trough them and enable any possible disabled java settings. If the browser asks you to download Microsoft JAVA VM, then download it. You need to have that installed on your browser to run any java games.

On Internet Explorer 6 java can be turned on following way: Select "Internet Options..." from "Tools" menu. Select the "Security" tab. Now when the "internet" zone is selected, click on "Custom level...". Scroll down until you find "Java permissions". Set that option into "High safety". Now scroll still down until you find "Scripting" all tabs under that should be set to "Enable". Now click on "ok" and go to "Advanced" tab in the internet options. Scroll down until you find "Microsoft VM". Turn on the "JIT compiler for virtual machine enebled (requires restart)" option. Now, restart your browser and return to RuneScape homepage. You should be able to play the game now.

Starting the game:
First you need to create a characte/account to yourself. Character and account are same thing in RuneScape. Because each character is an account. When you start the game, the game screen should look something like this. To create a new character, you should click on the New user button. After clicking that button, you should come to screen like this. On that screen, you must choose a name for your character. This is also your account name. The name can be up to 12 characters. You must also make up a password for yourself. and confirm it by re-typing it.The password can be up to 20 characters. After that, check the check box on the left side of the text. (make sure you sometime read the terms and agreement, so that you know why do you might get banned). Once you click the submit button, the account has been created and it is immediatly ready to use.

Making up a password:
Making up a password isn't always easy job to do. The password should be something you remember, but other's can't figure out. The better the longer. There are some passwords you shouldn't ever use. Never use same password as your character's name. Never use easy number combinations like 12121212. Never use one simple word as password like apple. The best password is just some random combination of numbers and letters of different cases like Ddf63z7kL. That kind of passwords are always good.

After you have clicked on the submit button, the game will automatically log you in the game and you will be brought to character creation screen. If you stay too long on this screen, the game automatically logs you out from the game, but don't worry, because your character will be in the creation screen next time you log in. On this screen You can choose your character's appearance by it's Head type (5 different types), Hair color (10 different types), Gender (2 different types), Top color (15 different types), Skin color (5 different types) and Bottom color (15). All these options give you total of 112500 different combinations. After choosing the appearance, you can choose your characters class. All of the different classes just have different starting bonuses and nothing else special. Here are the starting bonuses:

How to move?

In this guide, you will be thought the basics of all you need to play runescape. In the end of this guidem is section for newbie tips and it is very important to read them, so you wouldn't spoil the fun of experienced players. RuneScape is almost completely played with mouse. The one and only thing to use keyboard is changing camera angle and to chat. To change camera angle, press right or left arrow on keyboard. This should fix problems when you can't see your self. To chat, type anything and it will displayed bottom of the creen and when you press enter, it will be displayed to other players.

To move around in the game, click anywhere on the game window to make your character move there. Your character will always move where you want it to move with two exceptions: 1. There is something blocking your way. You can never walk trough enemies, or even the fighting ones. 2. Click is too far away. If you click on the other side of the river and the only way to get there is from long away, it can't navigate to there.

Menus
Below the upper bar is all the menus you need and here is instructions for how to use them all. All menus can be opened by putting your mouse cursor over them.

First from left is Options menu
Options menu contains three options to modify and "log out" button. 1. options is changing camera behavior from manual to auto. In manual mode you have complete controll of the camera and it doesn't change automatically. In auto mode, you camera can only be directed from 4 different angles, but from only ones that can see you. Inside any houses or dungeons, you can choose from 8 different angles, but once again only those can be used that can see you. Next options is for changing from PK mode to nonPK mode (or vise verca). This can be only done twice in the whole game, so think before changing. The change cannot be done by accident, because the game will ask for confirmations before changing. Next option is for changing password. This is more easier than typing "setpass xxxxxxxx" in screen. Next comes log out button. It is adviced that this is always used first before closing the browser, because some times you aren't allowed to log out, but if you log out by closing you browser, you will be counted as cheater and next time you open the game, you will start in Lumb Brigde with out any off your stuff.

Second from left is the friends list
There is not much to tell about the friends list, because it isn't made ready yet. It will come very soon as the clan support too.

Third is spell menu
This menu contains all the info about spells and everything about them. Here is displayed what runes will be required to cast the spell. There is also descriptions about what the spell does. To see more information about spells, see the spells section from the left frame. There is displayed all the apells of the game with their effects, levels and casting cots.

Fourth is stats
Next comes the stats menu. There is displayed all you stats and what you gain from your stuff. All stats are displayed as "A/B", A is your current amount of that skill (which can be lowered by some effects) and B is your maximium amount of that skill (this cant be lowered anyway). There are four scores counted from your stats. See the "Hall of fame" for more information how the are counted. All your stats increase when you use them, but you might gain some skills by completing certain quests.

Second from left is map
This displays near areas around you. This can be used for movement as well. If you click any where on this map, your character will move there with 2. exceptions (see above). You can also see the compass from this window.

And the last is inventory
Here you can see all you are carrying. Some items have numbers above them. That means they are stackable items. There is no limit for stackable items on one pile (but they can't be divided into more that one pile).
