What can you do with this skill? With mining, you can mine ores and gems from rocks. You can randomly gain gem from any rock instead of the normal ore. Mining almost always done with smithing. You can also mine some materials that are required in crafting. Mining is also a good way to make money, because you can always put all your mined or to bank, and then sell them, if someone needs.

How to raise this skill? To raise this skill, simply mine. Mine from rocks, and your skill will raise, there is no other way to rise this skill. Note that your experience grows only on times that you gain ore. Fails will not give any experience.

Where to start? Best place to start mining is from mine in east of Varrock. That place has many copper and tin rocks that you can easily mine, without being attacked, because there are no hostile monsters around that mine.

What to do, where to do? You will need a pick axe to mine rocks. Pickaxe can be either bought from a general store, or just gained from babarian village, where they respawn. Just use your pick axe to the rock to mine it. If you are succesfull, you will gain an ore, or if you are lucky, you might gain a gem. What ores you can mine, depends on your mining skill. At the beginning you can only mine copper, tin, clay, bluerite and gems. Not that rocks have "Regeneration time". This time means the time required for the ore to regenerate at the rock. If it hasn't regenerated, you can't gain any ore from that rock. Because of this, you should mine from multiple rocks to minimize the disadvatage of ore renegeration time. Mining from multiple rocks mean that after gaining ore from one rock, you move to another rock with same ore.

How to go to guild? There is a mining guild in this game. You need to have at least 60 mining to enter the guild. There is a mining guild in Falador city and in Dwarwen mines. I'm not sure what the falador and dwarwen mine part contains, because I haven't been able to go there, but from what I have heard, the dwarwen mine contains about 15 coal rocks and 3 mithril

Gems? Gems can be founded from every rock, because every rock has a change of finding a gem in it. I'm not sure but what I have heard, barbarian mine rocks have higher chance of finding gems, and from what I have experienced, the gold rocks in karamja cave have even higher chance. Gems are valuable items that can be sold for good money.

Advanced tips? Always mine from multiple rocks. When mining, keep only your axe with you, so you can hold as many ores as possible. The best way to train this skill, is to keep mining iron ores all the time. They give pretty good amount of experience, compared to their regenration time.

Ore table:
These are the ores in this game. The skill means how much is required mining to mine this. Exp means how much you get experience to mining, when you get this ore from rock. Price is the amount of money you should sell this ore for. note that the price can vary very much, as it is not based on anything, and I don't even know how much the ores are excatly sold for. If it is incorrect, please tell me. The (?) mark means that I'm not sure at all about the price. Best place to mine means the place which you should use to mine that ore. The links is to map that shows the mining zone.
