Firstly, edit photogallery-config.php to be suitable for your purposes.
It should be pretty self-explaining.

convert.sh will convert your images to a thumbnail and a full version 
(also see the script for more details). 

To add a brief description to every picture, edit
pics/picture-info-LANGUAGE.txt -files (where LANGUAGE is the language
handle (defined in photogallery-config.php).
